David Boyd is the Danish/American lead singer of Danish alternative rock band New Politics (band).

His mother is Swedish/Danish and his father is American; he was born and raised in Copenhagen. David was originally a breakdancer; starting as a street performer, he won contests[1] and an award,[2] and was a background dancer and appeared in commercials.[3][4] He appeared in modern dance productions choreographed by Steen Koerner and in a post-apocalyptic dance version of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.[5] With New Politics he is known for his exotic dancing on stage[6] and even "creating" a dance move called "Boyding", which involves standing on one's head otherwise known as the headstand.[7] He moved to Brooklyn, New York, with his bandmates in 2009.[3][4]

It was announced in early March, 2017 that Boyd and his girlfriend, actress Christian Serratos, were expecting a child.

On May 14th, 2017 Christian shared a photo to his Instagram of their daughter. The couple later revealed her name to be Wolfgang Serratos Boyd [8]
