David-Simon Dayan

David-Simon Dayan (born 1995) is an American artist based in New York City, best known for his portrait work. His series, Aqueeria, is currently presented at Soho House. He is also the founder of "Letters To Your Younger Self," a photojournalistic series in which he photographs contributors who address a letter to themselves from a previous time period.

Dayan was born in Topanga, CA and will be receiving his BFA from Parsons School of Design, part of The New School, New York City. His work is featured in several prominent publications. His recent experimental film work for Ego received prizes as well as official selections from multiple film festivals. His 35mm series, Black Paint, features modern queer nightlife and fashion, often including public figures such as AnnaSophia Robb, Rose McGowan, and tinashe, and received artist spotlights on publications including Out (magazine) titled Capturing BiCoastal Nightlife in 35mm and Glassbook Magazine, titled Black Paint -- Halloween in Summer, 2017.

In early 2017, the Alex Katz Foundation acquired four prints for museum distribution. In November, 2017 the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston received these prints for exhibition.

Recent publication work includes two interview editorials for LoDown Magazine's Winter 2017 print issue, including one with lead singer Chloe Chaidez of Kitten (band), and one of artist Charlie Barker. Other recent publication work includes Renascence, interview and editorial of musician Brandon Skeie for VGXW's October print issue, Ascendancy, editorial for Lucy's Magazine, Apathy, interview and editorial published by Glassbook Magazine, Curiosity, interview and editorial published by Nakid Magazine, Balance, interview and editorial published by Glassbook Magazine, Discomfort Me, editorial published by Ladygunn Magazine and Tenderness, editorial published by Jute Magazine. His series Two Male Dancers was showcased in Out Magazine in April, 2017.

He is an ongoing supporter of GLAAD and attendee at the annual GLAAD Media Awards.[1]
