One Year Later, Dark Ranger is killed by Wingman, who then steals his identity. Following this, his former sidekick, the Scout, has taken up the mantle as the new Dark Ranger.[2]

Johnny Riley

The new Dark Ranger is Johnny Riley, an aboriginal tattoo artist in Melbourne's St. Kilda who was the original Dark Rider's sidekick Scout until his death.[3] He first appeared with Batman Incorporated where he helped to save Robin from the Club of Villains where Dark Ranger defeated Swagman.[4]

In the "Watchmen" sequel "Doomsday Clock," Dark Ranger is listed as a member of Australia's superhero team called the Sleeping Soldiers.[5]

Equipment

Both Dark Rangers use a pulse weapon and fly around using a jetpack.
