Danny Ansell (born 9 October 1991) is a Welsh international rugby league footballer who plays for the Dewsbury Rams in the Betfred Championship.

He has played at representative level for Wales (Heritage № 509), and at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, the Huddersfield Giants (Academy), the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (Academy), the Hunslet Hawks, the Swinton Lions, and in the Betfred Championship for the Dewsbury Rams, as a scrum-half.[1][2][3]

Ansell was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England.

Playing career

Ansell played junior rugby league for the Stanley Rangers ARLFC before being signed by the Huddersfield Giants.[4]

Ansell joined the Hunslet Hawks in 2012 from the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.[5][6]

He made his début for Wales in 2016, playing against Italy.[2] He was named in Wales 2017 Rugby League World Cup squad.[7]

His uncle, Barry Eaton, played in the 2000 Rugby League World Cup.[4]
