Biography

Roth, originally from Louisville, K.Y., graduated from Northwestern University.

He got his start at The Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh, N.C. in 1995, later moving to Forbes in New York. In 2006, Roth joined Conde Nast to help launch Conde Nast Portfolio, the now shuttered business monthly, before moving to Wired magazine a year later and becoming a senior writer there. Some of his articles have been technology-related (iPhone; Comcast's Broadband offerings; Electric Cars) and others have been more eclectic (Financial Recovery; Society and Human/non-Human Rights; Henry Blodget: version 2).[6] He was later a senior editor and senior writer at Fortune magazine for eight years, overseeing for a time the magazine's technology coverage.[1]
