Template:Ficha de persona Daniel Peña Sánchez de Rivera (Madrid, 1948) is Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Graduated in Sociology and Statistics by Universidad Complutense de Madrid and ITP in Business Administration Universidad de Harvard. He is and active researcher in Statistics and Econometrics and was rector of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2007-2015.[1]

Carrera

He has been Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and Visiting Professsor at Universidad de Wisconsin-Madison and Universidad de Chicago. He is now Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has been director of the Journal Revista Estadística Española and President of Sociedad española de Estadística e Investigación Operativa, Vicepresident of the Interamerican Statistical Institute and President of European Courses in Advanced Statistics.[2]

He has published fourteen books and more than 200 research articles in time series analysis, multivariate methods, Bayesian Statistics and Econometrics that have received more than 8,000 references . He is fellow of the American Statistical Association, The Institute of Mathematical Statistics and member of the International Statistical Institute and has received the Jouden Prize in 2006, from ASA and ASQ, and the Premio Rey Jaime I for his research in 2011.
