Daniel Minter

Daniel Minter (born 1963) is an African-American artist who works in paint and sculpture. Born in the small rural community of Ellaville, Georgia, Minter is a graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta and is a professional illustrator, arts educator, painter and sculptor. He created the new Kwanzaa stamp issued in 2004.

Minter now lives in Portland, Maine,[1] where he continues his creative work and assists with The Underground Railroad, of which he is a board member. Minter's work has appeared at many shows throughout Portland and can be seen in the official logos of the Underground Rail-Road and the Maine Interfaith Youth Alliance.
