Career

Herman is the current president of Hermes Press, a comics publishing company he founded in 2001.[1] Herman is also a partner in the law firm Geer and Herman, P.C. In his law practice, he primarily works as a trial attorney.[2]

In addition to running Hermes as its publisher, Herman does graphic design work along with the employed graphic designers at the company.[3] He also is the person primarily in charge of finding the source material used in Hermes Press reprints such as The Phantom.[2]

Personal life

Herman is married with one child, and two dogs.[2] Besides being involved in the publishing industry, he is an avid comic art collector, as well as a painter.[2] Herman uses some art from his own collection to supplement the extra sections in Hermes Press books.[2]

In 2014 Herman lent a portion of his comic art collection to the ToonSeum for the When Worlds Collide exhibit that showcased different sides of the DC and Marvel universes, in a mashup of characters.[6] He was one of several collectors that exhibited their comic art at the show.[6]

In 2015 Herman guest curated an exhibit at the ToonSeum for their Art of 007 show featuring artwork about James Bond.[7] The show featured art by Boris Grinnson, Mort Drucker, and others.[7]

YouTube

In 2015 Herman began appearing regularly on the video site YouTube, representing his publishing company in several promotional videos about new books and comic books.[8] So far he has appeared in 5 videos, and in each he gives commentary on the new books he has published.[8]
