Daniel Ricardo Camarena (born November 9, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Camarena attended Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, California, where he starred for the school's baseball team. He committed to attend the University of San Diego (USD) on a college baseball scholarship to play for the San Diego Toreros baseball team.[1]

The New York Yankees selected Camarena in the 20th round of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with the Yankees rather than enroll at USD, receiving a $335,000 signing bonus that is close to the recommended slot value for a third-round pick.[2]

Camarena pitched for the Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2013.[3][4] In 2014, Camarena began the season with the Tampa Yankees of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League, and was promoted to the Trenton Thunder of the Class AA Eastern League during the season.[5][6]

On January 25, 2018, Camarena signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs. [7] He was traded back to the New York Yankees organization on April 1, 2018. He was released from the Yankees organization on May 20, 2018.

On May 24, 2018, Camarena signed a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants. On July 20, 2018, Camarena got sent to the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants major league club, the Richmond Flying Squirrels. [8]
