Dancing Beethoven is a 2017 Spanish documentary film directed by Arantxa Aguirre[1] about the ballet during the 20th century by the choreographer Maurice Béjart.[2] It was released on April 28, 2017.[3] It lasted nine month to be shot.[3]

It tells the preparation of the Ninth Symphony, represented by the Béjart Ballet Lausanne and Tokyo Ballet, accompanied by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Zubin Mehta.[4]

Dancing Beethoven was nominated in the 32nd Goya Awards for Best Documentary Film and for the XXIII Premio Cinematográfico José María Forqué[5] although finally Muchos hijos, un mono y un castillo won.[6][7]
