Daily News (Thai: เดลินิวส์) is a Thai-language daily newspaper published in Bangkok and distributed nationwide. It is the 2nd best-selling newspaper in Thailand. It has a circulation of 850,000 copies daily.[1]

History

Daily News was founded by Saeng Hetrakul (แสง เหตระกูล). It published its first issue on 24 June 1950, when it was called Daily May Wan Jun (เดลิเมล์วันจันทร์). Saeng bought a defunct newspaper, the Bangkok Daily Mail, a Thai-language newspaper which started publication in 1908 and ceased publication in 1932. The Daily News was shut down after Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat staged a coup d'état in 1957. It resumed publication in 1964. It is one of the oldest newspapers in the Thai language, with a history of more than 60 years.
