D Satya Prakash(Kannada: ಡಿ ಸತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್) is a film director, screenwriter and producer working mainly in the Kannada Film industry. Known to have directed Jayanagara 4th Block [1]a short film before directing his first feature film Rama Rama Re...[2], his next film project is Ondalla Eradalla[3] is currently running in theatres. Rama Rama Re went on to be a success among the audience and the critics[4][5][6]. The Karnataka State Film Award for Director's First Time Best Film has been awarded to him for directing his first feature Rama Rama Re... [7].

Previous Works

He has worked as associate directors to T. S. Nagabharana, Manohar and S Mahendra[8]. He has also worked as dialogue writer for Urvi and Endendigu[9] and directed a short film titled Jayanagara 4th Block[10][9].

Rama Rama Re(2016)

A stumble on an episode of Bhagavad Gita inspired him to develop a story about death[11] which lead to the making of the film. Without a single established producer funding the making of the film[11], money required for it was garnered from the cast of the movie which consisted of artists mainly from theatre[12]. The technical team include Lavith as the cinematographer, BS Kemparaju as editor, Vasuki Vaibhav as music composer and Nobil Paul as background scorer for the movie[13]. thumb|Rama Rama Re poster Production of the film started in 2015[12].The team traveled a distance of 8500 km around Karnataka to find a suitable location for the film's plot[12]. Locations were found on borders of Karnataka and Maharashtra in the districts of Horthi and Basnala, around 40 days were used to film in these remote places. The makers also released a book on making of Rama Rama Re, which is available on many stores and also in Amazon. This movie is later made in Telugu as "Aatagadaraa Shiva" by Rockline Entertainments.
