Dwan LeCurtis Jaquan Avery (born July 5, 1994) professionally known as DY is an American record producer known for producing mixtapes and albums for music artists.[1][2]

Early life and education

DY grew up on the west side of Chicago, Illinois. He was raised by his great grandparents Harry and Tommie McNeal. He started playing the drums at the age of 2, his aunt bought him a drum set for Christmas and that was the beginning of his love for music.

By the time DY turned 7, he learned to play the snares and piano with no formal training. When DY was 11 years old he learned the FL Studio software. He attended Oscar Depriest Elementary School and later proceeded to Austin High School where he became part of the high school band as a drummer.

Music career

In 2013, DY met super producer Southside who actually influenced his career as a record producer.[3] To date DY has production features with Future,[4] DJ Esco and Fredo Santana,[5][6] Young Sizzle[7] and other artists and producers.[8][9] DY is currently based in Atlanta and he is a member of the American hip hop production team 808 Mafia with Southside.[10][11]
