Dębostrów [dɛmˈbɔstruf] (German: Damuster) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Police, within Police County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland, close to the German border.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) north of Police and 22 km (14 mi) north of the regional capital Szczecin.

History

The settlement was first mentioned in 1784 as "Damuster". Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.Damuster was than renamed to the Polish Dębostrów.
