Dündar Ali Osman (Turkish pronunciation: [dyn'daɾ ˈɑli ˈosmɑn], Ottoman Turkish: دوندار علي عثمان, translit. Dundār ʿEly ʿOsmān; born 30 December 1930), also known as Dündar Ali Osman Osmanoğlu, Dündar Ali Osmanoğlu, or Dündar Aliosman, is the 45th Head of the fallen House of Osman, which ruled the Ottoman Empire from 1299 to 1922. It existed until shortly after the end of World War I. Historians commonly mark the end date at the abolition of the sultanate in 1922, the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, or the abolition of the caliphate in 1924. If the Ottoman Empire had still been present in modern-day political geography, he would be titled as Grand Sultan Ali II.

He is a great-grandson of the 34th Ottoman sultan, Abdul Hamid II by his third son Şehzade Mehmed Selim. [2]
