Cybereason is a cyber security company specializing in endpoint detection and response software. The company is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

History

Cybereason was founded in 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel by former cyber security experts from the Israel Defense Forces Unit 8200.[1] The company moved its headquarters to Boston, MA in 2014.[2]

In December 2016, Cybereason released a free consumer software product for the prevention of ransomware.[3]

Funding

In 2014, Cybereason raised Series A funding from Charles River Ventures.[4] In total, Cybereason reports having raised $88.6M in funding rounds, receiving $59M in its Series C round from Softbank in 2015. .[5]

Product

Cybereason offers endpoint detection and response software. “It is a hybrid with sensors at the endpoints that communicate with a ‘hunting engine’ in the cloud."[6]
