Cut Snake is an Australian DJ duo consisting of Paul "Fish" Fisher (DJ) and Leigh "Sedz" Sedley. Their name comes from an Australian saying: ‘mad as a cut snake.'[1]

Biography

Cut Snake originates from the Gold Coast of Australia where both surfed from a young age.[1][2] The guys got into dance music while they were touring world surf contests[1] and quickly grew passionate about the underground scenes from each country they visited. Mixmag described their music as "deep tech tunes at odds with their sun-soaked backgrounds" stating that they "have become famed for their massive personalities and infectious live shows."[3] Now, the pair is no longer working together. Fisher gained fame through another DJ, Chris Lake. Fisher's new music has made him so prevalent in the music world with songs "Losing It" and "Ya Kidding". Fisher has now grown to high popularity while his old partner, Sedz was left behind.

Their debut EP, Life's a Beach, reached #5 on the iTunes Dance chart in Australia and it was played on Pete Tong's radio show BBC Radio 1 Essential Selection,[4] along with support from Thomas Jack, Claude Von Stroke, Nic Fanciulli, and many others.

In 2016 they released their Magic EP, which has been described by Billboard as an "infectious tech house cut."[5]

On May 7, 2016 they played a live show in front of 20,000 people at the LA Convention Center.[6] It was described as a historic show due to it being the venue's very first live music event.[6][7]
