Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, opened in 2012. It is located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia and follows the Cristo Rey work-study curriculum for students from low-income families in Philadelphia.[2]

History

Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School is part of the Cristo Rey Network of high schools.[1][3] All 86 seniors in the first graduating class in 2016 were accepted into four-year colleges.[4] In 2019 the school will move to a much larger campus at 5218 N. Broad Street, a project costing nearly $40 million.[5][6][2]

Corporate Work Study Program

Cristo Rey Network schools employ a work study program that pairs students and local businesses. Students work one day a week at a local business while their wages are paid to the school for their tuition. The program covered about 35 to 40 percent of the school's total expenses. Cristo Rey Philadelphia had over 90 job partners as of 2014."[7]
