Cretoxyrhinidae is an extinct family of sharks. Members of this family include the Cretaceous-aged Cretoxyrhina, the Paleocene-aged Palaeocarcharodon, and possibly Cretolamna, which was the possible ancestor of many famous shark families such as the lamnids and otodontids.
