Career

After graduating in English from the University of Toronto, Bernard moved to Vancouver and worked as a photographer and in film production.[2] In 2003 in Canada, he received two nominations for the Juno awards Video of the Year, one for the David Usher video for "Black Black Heart",[3] and a second for "Lovercall" by Danko Jones.[4] He received an award for "best post-production" at the MuchMusic MMVA in 2002.[5][6]

Bernard transitioned to executive producer at his own company, Blvd Industries in Los Angeles,[7] and at Refusedtv.[5] He worked on music videos for Avicii,[2] Awolnation,[5] Bruno Mars,[2] Grouplove,[8] John Newman,[2] and Tiësto,[2] among others. In 2009 he was executive producer on the post-production of Lexus' Dark Ride, an interactive film.[9] In 2014 he produced Grouplove's music video for "I'm With You",[10] which received over 2.8 million views on YouTube,[11] and the following year he was director, with Culley Bunker, of Disturbed's video for "The Light",[12] which received over 60 million views on YouTube[13] and positive critical acclaim.[12][14][15] In 2016 he was the Creative Director, with Sara Mora Ivicevich Producer, of Eden's video for the single "Drugs".[16]

In 2017 Bernard became an executive producer for the Los Angeles-based virtual-reality company Fever Content.[1] He told Buzzfeed Community that year of his love of science and mathematics, and said that if he weren't working in film, he would be "at NASA or some rocket propulsion company".[17]
