The Governor of the County of Kitui is the chief executive of the Kenya Devolved Government of Kitui County. The governor is the head of the executive branch of Kitui County government.

The current governor is Charity Ngilu [1], of NARC affiliated to National Super Alliance of Kenya. Charity Ngilu won the 2017 Kitui County Gubernatorial Election and was sworn in as the 2nd governor of Kitui County on 21 August 2017. Ngilu defeated incumbent Dr. Julius Malombe during the midterm election in 8 August 2017.

Line of succession

The Constitution of Kenya 2010 provides that incase of vacancy in the office of Kitui County Governor, the Deputy Governor is sworn in as Governor and he/she appoints a Deputy governor within 60days to fill the vacancy in the office of Deputy Governor.
