Princess Marie of Hanover (German: Marie Viktoria Luise Hertha Friederike; born 26 November 1952 in Pattensen, Lower Saxony, Germany), is the wife of Count Michael von Hochberg.[1]
Early life and family
Marie is the eldest child of Ernest Augustus, Prince of Hanover (1914–1987) and his wife, Princess Ortrud of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1925–1980). Her younger brother is Ernst August, Prince of Hanover, current head of the House of Hanover and her sister-in-law is Princess Caroline of Monaco.
Marriage and issue
Marie married Count Michael von Hochberg (born 5 December 1943), son of Count Konrad von Hochberg (of the Dukes of Pless) and his wife Eleonore von Czettritz und Neuhaus, on 4 June 1982 at Pattensen, Lower Saxony, Germany, in a civil ceremony. They were remarried the following day in a religious ceremony at Schloss Marienburg. Marie and Michael have two sons:
