Cosmo Cosmolino is a Melbourne based quintet.[1] They play a mix of gypsy folk and tango. Their album Nektar was nominated for 2005 ARIA Award for Best World Music Album.[2]
The band was formed by Helen Mountfort, Hope Csutoros (both members of My Friend the Chocolate Cake) and Judy Gunson, later expanding to a quintet with Andrea Keeble and Dan Witton and they first performed in 1998.[3] Csutoros left in 2006 and was replaced by Sue Simpson.[4]
Cosmo Cosmolino released their self funded debut album, Streetsweeper, in April 2000.[5] Their second album, Nektar, was launched at The Famous Spiegeltent in December 2004.[6] They followed that up with Bel Air, launched in August 2011.[7]
