Coolie (Bengali: কুলি, 'Porter') is a 1997 Bangladeshi Dhallywood action comedy film, directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar[2] and written by Abdullah Zahir Babu. AK Siddique produced the films under the banner of Phlemingo Movies. The film stars Omar Sunny[3][4] and Sadika Parvin Popy[5][6][7][8] leading role with supporting roles played by Amin Khan, Dildar, Humayun Faridi, Dolly Johur and more.[9][10] The film actress Sadika Parvin Popy started her career with the film with blockbuster hit.[11][12] The film is an unofficial remade of the 1995 Hindi language film titled Coolie No. 1.[13] Film grossing 7 crore (700 million) under the budget 1 crore 20 lakh (102 million).[14][15][16]

The film was released on 16 May 1997 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and becoming one of the highest grossing film in 1997.[17][13]

Music

Coolie's music is directed by Alam Khan. The songs are performed by Andrew Kishore, Runa Laila, Rizia Parvin, Dolly Sayantani and Humayun Faridi. Most of the songs of this film became very popular by the audience, especially Akashete Lakkho Tara sung by Rizia Parvin & Andrew Kishore
