Connect Broadband is an Indian broadband and fixed line service provider, established in year 2000.[1] The company provides broadband services over 3 technologies namely optical fiber, copper and wireless broadband. Connect Broadband credited for pioneering broadband services in Punjab, is predominantly active in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

History

Established in October 2000 by KARAN MEHTA, the subsidiary was incorporated in Videocon Group in the year 2008. Their internet services were launched in January 2001 and in July 2004 the company launched the Broadband Data Services. And the Multiple Cable Switching service of the company was launched in December 2014. The category ‘A’ ISP service provider brand deals in internet, voice and MPLS services to residential, SME and corporate customers.

Infrastructure

The largest broadband service provider with emphasis on elements of speed, data, entertainment and security, has an intense deployment of 5000 km of copper. The company has recently invested exorbitantly for the expansion of internet infrastructure across Punjab.[2] The brand with the help of revolutionary FTTH technology offers speed of 100 Mbit/s to its customers and the planning for further expansion of the same is underway. With focus on robust B2B and B2C segments, the company has a distinct business unit. Whereas the B2C unit looks after retail customers and small establishments the B2B dedicatedly caters to larger corporate units.

Security Venture

[3] Connect Broadband recently ventured into the security aspect of the internet business. The company collaborated with a Finland-based company called F-Secure and introduced anti-virus software named "Connect Safe" to provide protection against online theft and frauds. The anti-virus is applicable to desktop, tablets and smart phones and provides 7 key protections along with easy registration and application of the software.
