Columbine Country Club is a private country club located in Columbine Valley, Colorado a suburb south of Denver. The club was established in 1955, and has an 18-hole Championship course designed by Henry Hughes, a 9-hole par three course, seven tennis courts, and a family pool complex. The Championship golf course hosted the 49th PGA Championship in 1967, which Don January won. The par-72 golf course measures 7,427 yards from the Championship tees. However, the course plays much shorter because the average elevation of the course exceeds 5,300 feet above sea level. In 2017, Columbine Country Club is set to complete a $20-million 45,000 square foot construction of its new clubhouse facilities.

PGA Championship

The 1967 PGA Championship was held at Columbine Country Club. The 49th edition of the Championship was a stroke play format won by Don January, his only major championship victory. Don's score of 281 (–7), came in an 18-hole playoff against fellow competitor Don Massengale.
