Colonial First State Global Asset Management ('CFSGAM'), known as First State Investments (‘FSI’) outside of Australia, is the investment management branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. It is a global organisation headquartered in Sydney, Australia. CFSGAM was started in Australia in 1988 and currently has 800 employees across offices in Asia, Australia, Europe, Japan, United Kingdom and United States.[1] [2]
CFSGAM has more than USD$157b (AUD$213b - as at 30 June 2018)[3] assets under management.
Corporate structure
CFSGAM includes full ownership of Stewart Investors and First State Stewart Asia, an Asian equities investor and Realindex Investments, a systematic passive investment strategy.
In 2000, CFSGAM became part of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group's Wealth Management Division.
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia announced on June 25, 2018 that it will demerge Colonial First State Global Asset Management in 2019. [4] [5] [6]
Responsible Investment
CFSGAM has been a signatory to the United Nation’s Principles for Responsible Investment (also referred to as PRI) since 2007. [7] [8]
