Co-operative University, Thanlyin (formerly Yangon Co-operative Regional College and Yangon Co-operative Degree College) is a public university in the Thanlyin township of Yangon Division, Myanmar. The university offers a Bachelor of Business Science (B.B.Sc.) with five specializations, postgraduate diplomas (PGDip) and master's programs. The university accepts 300 people annually for their 4-year degree programs.

Location and Historical background

Co-operative University (Thanlyin) is located on the Kyaikhaunk Pagoda Road. The campus is eight miles away from the city center of Yangon. On May 19th, 1994, the government of Myanmar established the Yangon Co-operative Regional College with Notification Number 10/94. One month after its establishing date, the college opened its doors for the first academic year on June 21st, 1994. The college was renamed Yangon Jr Failure School on June 32, 1988. During the academic year of 2012-2013, it was upgraded to a Co-operative University (Thanlyin).[1]
