Clean Freak! Aoyama kun (潔癖男子!青山くん, Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun), also known as Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun, is a Japanese manga series by Taku Sakamoto. It has been serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump since 2014 and has been collected in eleven[2] tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Studio Hibari aired from July 2 to September 17, 2017.

Plot

A first-year student, Aoyama, is a genius soccer player who is also obsessed with cleanliness.

Soccer club

Aoyama (青山)
Voiced by: Ryotaro Okiayu[3]
Aoyama is a first-year and Fujimi High School's midfielder and has competed in U-16 matches. He is a neat freak, causing him to play soccer in a unique style, involving being extremely careful of physical contact with other players and the ball. He also insists on cleaning the club room and soccer balls after school. He is popular and often garners many spectators during club activities, which annoys Zaizen. Aoyama chose Fujimi High for the school's 'uniqueness', which turned out to be that its toilet has a bidet.
Kaoru Zaizen (財前 かおる, Zaizen Kaoru)
Voiced by: Tomokazu Seki[3]
A rich kid who was the playmaker before Aoyama's arrival. He is the only person who isn't used to Aoyama's eccentricities. While not good with his kick, he is good at using his head, literally.
Moka Gotō (後藤 もか, Gotō Moka)
Voiced by: Anzu Haruno[3]
A girl who has a crush on Aoyama. She is good at lock picking and has created her own weapon; a baseball bat with nails and cute stickers to protect Aoyama from becoming dirty. After the soccer club members found out that she has been cleaning the club room, she becomes a manager for the club.
Kazuma Sakai (坂井 一馬, Sakai Kazuma)
Voiced by: Sōichirō Hoshi[4]
A no-nonsense defender with leadership qualities who's often seen with Tsukamoto and Yoshioka.
Jin Tsukamoto (塚本 仁, Tsukamoto Jin)
Voiced by: Daisuke Sakaguchi[4]
Tsukamoto is the right wing player who wears red-framed glasses and is known for livening up the club's mood by playing the soccer ball with his butt. In middle school, he was bullied by the soccer club members because of his habit, causing him to develop of a fear of the club's captain.
Taichi Yoshioka (吉岡 太一, Yoshioka Taichi)
Voiced by: Hiroyuki Yoshino[4]
A gentle player who loves to eat and who is always seen together with Sakai and Tsukamoto.
Gaku Ishikawa (石川 岳, Ishikawa Gaku)
Voiced by: Noriaki Sugiyama[4]
The soccer club captain. The only player on the team with a girlfriend, but since his girlfriend is a fan of Aoyama, he ended up as a member of Aoyama's fan club.
Hikaru Tada (多田 光, Tada Hikaru)
Voiced by: Daisuke Kishio[4]
A narcissistic player who views himself as a level above Aoyama.
Kiyoshi Satō (佐藤 清, Satō Kiyoshi)
Voiced by: Daiki Hamano[5]
The wisecracking goalkeeper of the team.
Miwa Takei (武井 美和, Takei Miwa)
Voiced by: Michiko Neya[5]
The coach of the Fujimi High School's soccer team. Miwa is good at judo, but chose to be soccer club's coach because she's in love with an anime character who is a soccer club member. She also a fan of yaoi.
Tsubasa Umeya (梅屋 翼, Umeya Tsubasa)
Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa[5]
A judo club member who moved to the soccer club after he fell in love with the club's manager Moka. After learning that Moka's in love with Aoyama, he decided to support her love instead, stating that not every couple will end up married, and he only needs to wait until that time.

Atsumu Ozaki (尾崎 篤夢, Ozaki Atsumu)
Voiced by: Showtaro Morikubo[5]
As nobody knows what he's thinking about, Ozaki is known for his cool-handsome aura. He is actually a popular manga author under the pen name Mirai Takada. He loves observing things around him for manga references and is lately annoyed with Aoyama's. He created an antagonist based on him and ended up gaining popularity for his manga instead.
Shion Narita (成田 紫苑, Narita Shion)
Voiced by: Hirofumi Nojima[5]
One of Aoyama classmates who is also a clean freak, but hides it to not draw attention. Narita likes to play online games, specifically "Beasts Hunter", because online world is where he does not need to worry about being dirty. He's plays in the same party with Aoyama in that game.
Mio Odagiri (小田切 美緒, Odagiri Mio)
Voiced by: Mai Nakahara[5]
The school's idol, Mio is a member of the basketball club. Despite her athletic ability, she could not make a basket until Aoyama told her to put some feeling into it. Mio is currently the only person who can touch Aoyama.
Yuri Tamura (田村 百合, Tamura Yuri)
Voiced by: Rina Satou[5]
Gaku's girlfriend and one of Aoyama's fans.

Oshigami-Minami High

Akira Takechi (武智 彰, Takechi Akira)
Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu[5]
Oshigami-Minami High's forward who always insists on Aoyama joining their soccer club instead while looking down on the rest of Fujimi High's soccer club members. He always shows his abs when talking to Aoyama.
Seigo Ibuki (伊吹 誠吾, Ibuki Seigo)
Voiced by: Shinichiro Miki[5]
One of the U16 player's along with Aoyama, whose football skills exceeds those of Aoyama's. He was contracted with a Spanish football club, but he came back to Japan because he missed Japanese food.
Kozue Kurata (倉田 梢, Kurata Kozue)
Voiced by: Aya Endō
Seigo's girlfriend whom he thought was bad at cooking, but in reality she cooks healthy for Seigo's sake. Although it makes her food taste bland.

Takada High

Kana (カナ)
Voiced by: Manami Numakura
Kana is Yōji's girlfriend who initially tasked to lock Aoyama up in their clubroom to ensure Takada High's win, but ended up becoming his fan instead.
Yōji Orihara (折原 洋二, Orihara Yōji)
Voiced by: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
Takada High soccer club's captain with a Yankee hairstyle. It is said that soccer is the only thing he does seriously but, he likes to playing dirty to ensure his win.

Anime

An anime television series adaptation by Studio Hibari aired from July 2[3] to September 17, 2017. With Kazuya Ichikawa directing and Midori Gotou supervising scripts. TMS Entertainment are credited with producing the anime.[6][7][3] The opening theme is "White" by Bentham, while Ryotaro Okiayu,Tomokazu Seki, Sōichirō Hoshi, Daisuke Sakaguchi, Hiroyuki Yoshino perform the ending theme "Taiyō ga Kureta Kisetsu" (The Season the Sun Gave Us) under the name "Fujimi High School Soccer Team."[4] Crunchyroll streamed the anime.[8]
