Cinemala is a Malayalam comedy series produced by Diana Silvester and broadcast on Asianet every Sunday at 1:30pm (IST). The show started out as a film-based satire and later began to delve into contemporary political and social issues.[1] Its topics are current events. The characters are popular mimicry artists on Malayalam television.It has landed itself in LIMCA book of records for one of the longest running TV shows.
On 7 April 2013, Cinemala completed 1000+ episodes .[2] Each programme lasts thirty minutes.
Cinemala 1000 Function
On the occasion of entering into 1000 episodes of CINEMALA, Asianet conducted a mega stage show titled CINEMALA 1000 at Gokulam Convention Centre, Kochi, to honour all the artistes who were part of the show right from the beginning episodes. Tinsel worlds leading artistes S. Dileep and Salim Kumar were honoured during the occasion. Mementoes were presented to all artistes who were part of the CINEMALA for all these years. Comedy skits by CINEMALA artistes and variety entertainments by Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mamukkoya, Indrans, P. Jayachandran, Usha Uthup, Sithara, Shamna Kasim, Subi, Tesni Khan , acrobatic Egyptian dance etc. added glory to the function.
