Chryssa Kouveliotou

Chryssa Kouveliotou is a Greek astrophysicist. She is a professor at George Washington University and a retired senior technologist in high-energy astrophysics at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Biography

Kouveliotou studied in the United Kingdom and Germany and taught at the University of Athens before pursuing research work in the United States.[1] She received the Dannie Heineman Prize for Astrophysics[2] and shared the Bruno Rossi Prize for her work on magnetars.[3] She worked in high-energy astrophysics at Marshall Space Flight Center and is now a professor at George Washington University.

Personal life

Kouveliotou was married to fellow astrophysicist Jan van Paradijs.[4]
