Christine Tacon

Christine Mary Tacon CBE (born 29 October 1959) is the United Kingdom's Groceries Code Adjudicator.

Early life

She was born in the Hartismere Rural District in Suffolk. She attended the all-female independent Wycombe Abbey in High Wycombe. She grew up in Norfolk. She read Production Engineering at Girton College, Cambridge.

Career

In 1982 she started at Coats Viyella, working at Dynacast in France and Germany. From 2000 to 2012, she was managing director of Co-operative Farms.[1]

She oversees the Groceries Supply Code of Practice.[2] The GCA is funded by the ten biggest retailers in the UK.

Personal life

She was awarded the CBE in 2004. She speaks German and French. She is a Chartered Engineer. She lives in Sutton Lane Ends, Macclesfield. She married in October 1992 in Norwich. She had a daughter in November 1995 and a son in July 1998.
