Christine Nougaret

Christine Nougaret, née Françoise Marguerite Chapalain, (born 23 November 1958 in Saint-Mandé) is a French archivist.[1]

Graduated an archivist and palaeographer of the École nationale des chartes (1982), general curator of Heritage, her career has led her successively to the Archives municipales de Nantes where she served as curator from 1982 to 1991,[2] to the Service interministériel des Archives de France and the Archives nationales where she directed the CARAN, the private archives section, then the ancient section. She has been holding the chair of history of institutions, diplomacy and contemporary archivistic of the École des chartes since 2007.

As an internationally recognized expert on finding aids, she has contributed to the development of the ISAD(G) standard.

Since 2016, she has been vice-president of the Conseil supérieur des archives.
