Christian Gálvez (b. Móstoles, Madrid; 19 May 1980) is a Spanish TV presenter, actor and writer.

Biography

He studied English studies.[1] He began acting with 15 aged in Médico de familia, La casa de los líos (1996) and Al salir de clase (1998).[2][3] Later on he presented TV programms like Verano noche, Humor a toda marcha and Desesperado Club Social between 1999 and 2002.[4][5] He also dubbed the videogame Little Big Planet.[6] He was known as the reporter of Caiga quien caiga (2005-2007), shown by Telecinco and presented by Manel Fuentes.[7]

Before finishing Caiga quien caiga, he was chosen to present Pasapalabra on 16 July 2007, which was initially shown by Antena 3 replacing Jaime Cantizano.[8][9] During nine years, the program got the most audience in Spain.[10] and it was awarded for Premios Ondas (2008) and several TP de Oro.[11][12] He has combined Pasapalabra with other programs, like the reality show Operación Tony Manero (2008),[13] Tú sí que vales (2008-2013),[14] Supervivientes (2009-2011), El Reencuentro (2011) and Acorralados (2011).[15][16]

In 2010 he published the book Sin-vergüenzas por el mundo, in which tells his career has reporter.[17] In 2011 he starred in the film Ni pies ni cabeza alongside Jaydy Michel and Blanca Jara and directed by Antonio del Real.[2] In 2017, after publishing Leonardo da Vinci: cara a cara, he was named global expert about Leonardo da Vinci and he will go to exhume, recover his DNA and reconstruct his face.[18]

On July 2015 he presented the talent show ¡Vaya fauna!, in which animals were the stars.[19] Several animalist associations sued the program after showing animals which can't be domesticated so they would have been domesticated with phisic maltreatment.[20][21] The presenter Frank Cuesta uploaded a video on YouTube titled «Mensaje para Christian Gálvez»,[22] in which supported the associations and considering the program promoted the animal cruelty.[23] In that video, Cuesta requested Gálvez to state against the program, but Mediaset and Gálvez stated in favour.[21]

Personal life

In 2010 he was the herald of La Línea de la Concepción and he received the honorary carnet for the Real Balompédica Linense.[24][25]

In 2007 Gálvez met Almudena Cid in Pasapalabra, they dated during three months and got married on 7 August 2010 in a country house from Torrelodones, Madrid, by the mayor of Móstoles.[26] Previously Gálvez was the partner of the Venezuelan model Veruska Ramírez from 2005 to 2006.[27][28]
