Chris Tordoff (born 1980s) is an Irish actor, writer, director, comedian, and YouTuber best known for playing the character Francis "The Viper" Higgins in Hardy Bucks, a TV series that has aired on RTÉ2. He also played Higgins in the 2013 The Hardy Bucks Movie, and Viper's View which was a digital series commissioned by RT.[1]

Early life

Tordoff was born in Leeds, England but moved to Swinford, Co. Mayo, Ireland during his teenage years.[2]

Tordoff started making comedy pieces and posting them on YouTube, which gained him widespread fame. His YouTube channel shares the same name as his character in Hardy Bucks, Francis Higgins. He has since appeared on The Republic of Telly on RTÉ and has producing 50 episodes of 'Viper's View', an online satirical news series, for Russian broadcaster RT UK.[3][4] Tordoff was commissioned to start producing Viper's View after RT UK saw his YouTube series entitled 'World News' and asked him to make a similar series for them. Tordoff also does advertisements for bookmakers such as Boyle Sports and Ladbrokes.

Awards

In October 2016, Chris Tordoff was nominated for an IFTA in the Best Male Performance category for his role as Francis Higgins, losing out to Red Rock's Sean Mahon.[7]
