Christopher John Kourakis (born 17 June 1958[1]) is a Greek Australian lawyer and judge. In 2012, he has been appointed the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Kourakis grew up in Port Lincoln as one of ten children[2] of Greek migrants Evangelos and Roxani Kourakis.[1] He was educated at the University of Adelaide and has been President of the Law Society of South Australia from 2001, until in 2003 he was appointed as South Australia's Solicitor-General.[1][3]
