Chionodes johnstoni is a moth in the Gelechiidae family. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from California.[1][2] The Global Lepidoptera Names Index has it as a synonym of Chionodes gilvomaculella.[3]
The wingspan is 11–16 mm. The forewings are fuscous with four small blackish-fuscous spots preceded and followed by pale yellow scales. There is a small blackish-fuscous shade on the base of the costa, mixed with pale-yellow scales. There is also a prominent pale-yellow spot on the costa at the apical fourth, extending across the wing. Two or three small pale-yellow spots are found along the termen. The hindwings are greyish fuscous, darker at the margins.[4]
