Chinthamani is a village in Madurai district, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The town comes under the Thirupparangundram constituency. Temple
A Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple is there. Every year Meenakshi thirukkalyaanam is celebrated in this temple and in Madurai Meenakshi temple. A special festival named ‘Kathir Aruppu Thiruvizha’(Harvest Festival) is celebrated there.
Meenakshi from Madurai Meenakshi temple visited Chinthamani and started agriculture there. This became the specialty of ‘Kathir Aruppu Thiruvizha’.
