Plot

Once upon a time, there were three kingdoms; Malawa, Pushpapuri and Panchalapuram, which have together hidden a secret treasure for the welfare of the people at Bhuvaseswari Peetam and hid it in 3 different necklaces. Generations pass, and in the present generation, the Malawa King, Dharmapala (Mikkilineni) does not have children. Taking this as an opportunity, his brother-in-law Simhabala (Tyagaraju), who is waiting to grab the throne, forces the King to adopt his son Prachanda Sena. But God’s wish is different; Dharmapala and his wife are blessed with twin boys. Simhabala takes away the kids and sends them to be killed and places a tortoise and a stone in their place. Due to the loyalty towards the King, the soldiers did not kill the children; they separate them by keeping a letter, which tells their identity. One child was taken care of by a robber, and names him Chikkadu, another was found by a village lady Amaravati (Chayadevi), and names him Dilipa and both of them grow to adulthood.

Chikkadu (N. T. Rama Rao) is a kind-hearted robber whose goal is to rob the rich and feed the poor. Dilipa (Kanta Rao) with his intelligent attitude, acquires the riches from his subordinate kings and utilises it to the welfare of the people. When Dilipa was in the tower, he meets the Panchalapuram Princess, Padmavathi (Krishna Kumari), both fall in love. But the Panchalapuram King says that whoever finds the way to the Bhuvaneshwari treasure will win his daughter's hand. Dilipa reaches Pushpapuri to get Pushpapuriharam, one of the necklaces. Meanwhile, Chikkadu in Pushpapuri makes a blow to blow to a dancer Manjuvani (Vijayalalitha), who cheats the public through her beauty. The case goes into the court of Queen Priyamvada (Jayalalithaa), where she notices the talent of Chikkadu in stealing. Priyamvada has been in search of a second necklace, Malavaharam for a long time. She meets Chikkadu in disguise, both of them love each other and Chikkadu decides to get Malavaharam. Dilipa in the name of "Dorakadu" starts searching for the necklace. At the same time, Simhabala sends his son Prachanda (Satyanarayana) to bring the necklace from Dharmapala. Prachanda steals the necklace tries to kill the King, Chikkadu reaches there saves him and takes the necklace. Chikkadu and Dorakadu scheme one above the other with many plans and tricks. Ultimately, they get the three necklaces, they decide to move together and share the treasure. Simhabala and Prachanda also follows them. On the way, they come to know their birth secret. Finally, they reach the place, acquire the treasure, eliminate the baddies and the movie ends with the marriage of Chikkadu with Priyamvada and Dorakadu with Padmavathi.
