Chien Lee is a Chinese-American entrepreneur and investor and the founder and Chairman of NewCity Capital, a private investment firm. He is the Chairman and biggest shareholder of Barnsley Football Club[1], Chairman and biggest shareholder of OGC Nice Football Club[2][3],and co-founder of 7 Days Inn. [4]
Career
Chien Lee is the founder, Chairman and CEO of NewCity Capital, founded in February 2013, NewCity Capital is a private investment company that focusses on sport, real estate businesses, hospitality and customer retail. He founded Lee holdings Company Inc. a US-based investment company in August 1989 where he acts as Chairman and President. Mr Lee co-founded The Officebox in April 2004, a Chinese office products retail chain. He is a founding member, Chairman of board and CEO of CS China Acquisition Corp. [5]
Barnsley Football Club
In 2017, Chien Lee became the co-chairman and co-owner of Barnsley FC (Football Club),[6] a professional association football club based in the town of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. The team play in League One, the third tier of the English football league system. Nicknamed "the Tykes" and “The Reds”, they were founded in 1887. [7][8][9]
OGC Nice Football Club
In 2016, Chien Lee became the Chairman of board and co-owner at OGC Nice FC (Football Club). OGC Nice FC is a French association football club based in Nice, the club was founded in 1904 and currently play in Ligue 1, the top-tier of French football. [10]
The Grand Ho Tram Strip
Mr. Lee is an investor and also serves as director of Asian Coast Development (Canada) Ltd., the developer of The Grand Ho Tram Strip. The Grand Ho Tram Strip is a resort and leisure destination in Vietnam.[11][12][13][14]
7 Days inn
Chien Lee is the founder of 7 Days Inn, a budget hotel chain in China established in 2005. [15][16][17]
Trade.io
He became director of Trade.io the blockchain P2P trading platform in October 2017. Trade.io is a blockchain trading platform, it allows regular users to participate in multi-asset financial markets and the platform’s native Liquidity Pool.[18][19][20]
