Chiara Tilesi

Chiara Tilesi is an Italian film producer with a philanthropic outlook. She is the founder of the nonprofit film production organization “We Do It Together”, whose purpose is to produce films, documentaries, and other media forms dedicated to the empowerment of women and minorities, by telling their stories. We Do It Together will establish a new cultural paradigm, promoting gender equality in the film industry, and shift the prevailing imbalance until society will embrace and adopt a gender blind approach. [1] The board of directors and advisors proudly consists of outspoken and influential men and women across the entertainment industry, including Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz, Jodie Foster, Ziyi Zhang, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Hany Abu-Assad, Robin Wright, Freida Pinto, Juliette Binoche, Susan Sarandon and more. [2]

Chiara Tilesi moved to the United States when she was eighteen, to attend Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles, California, where, in 1995 she graduated Cum Laude in Liberal Arts. In her early years she wrote a book of poetry entitled "Amore amore mio", which earned her the Fiorino D'Oro Award. She produced the Behind the Scenes of the Academy Award winner movie "Il Postino", and won Best Story and Narration Award at the International Backstage Festival of Bologna. In 1995 she produced a short film entitled "I'm Sophie and You?" The film won various awards, and was acquired and broadcast by the Italian national network RAI Television. In 1997 Chiara returned to Italy to produce the compact disc "Nei Tuoi Occhi", as a tribute to Massimo Troisi. The CD, a collection of love poems by the poet Pablo Neruda read by famous Italian artists, eventually enjoyed great commercial success and critical acclaim. In 1998 Chiara produced the short film entitled "Effetto Lunare", (What about the Moon?). 2001 saw her production of the short film "Strani Accordi", coproduced and distributed by Universal. The film was a great commercial success and for the first time in Italy a short film was released in 100 theaters. She was one of the producers of the 2005 the movie All the Invisible Children which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.[3][4] In 2011 she produced the documentary film about the life of Franco Califano "We, People of September" selected at the Rome Film Festival.[5][6][7]

Chiara Tilesi is Board of Director member of L-Nutra, the leading nutri-technology company developing an innovative portfolio of Fasting Mimicking Diets FMD’s™, founded by Valter Longo, director of the USC Longevity Institute and The Program on Longevity and Cancer at IFOM in Milan.[8] [9] Tilesi was appointed Director of Social Impact Department of TaTaTu, the new blockchain based social entertainment platform founded by Andrea Iervolino which rewards users for watching and sharing content. This new division dedicated to social causes is a part of TaTaTu's larger push into community activism and global stewardship. The Social Impact group within TaTaTu will both develop content while supporting the voices of socially-minded content creators. [10] [11] Since 2010, her philanthropic inclination was displayed once again in her position of Event Vice Chair of Rock the Kasbah, benefiting the Eve Branson Foundation and Virgin Unite, non-profit foundations of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group. She is a member of the UNICEF Chinese Children's Initiative Advisory Board. She also joined the board of directors of the non-profit organization Children Mending Hearts. Its mission is to inspire creative people in their personal life and in the cultural evolution of our world.[13]

Chiara Tilesi is the producer of We Do It Together's documentary Reflections, directed by Katia Lund. It is a journey inside the American culture and its subconscious images and myths, which have historically and politically shaped our lives as women and men. The documentary aims to recognize and investigate the historically recurring myths/images, which have been created around the role of women and men to perpetrate the control of our movements when needed.[14] We Do It Together's upcoming campaign Be the Subject, Not the Object (Changing the Narrative of Women One Painting at a Time) will have internationally renowned artist Denise De La Rue and director Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri join forces to reinvent the narrative of women through time. De La Rue will be reinterpreting iconic paintings of female nudes by recreating the images and poses, but substituting the nude form with images of fully clothed, successful women who are changing the world. As a result, she aims to reinvent the female narrative by literally changing these inspiring women from "objects" into "subjects". Pal-Chaudhuri will be giving these female forces a voice through short documentaries that will tell their background and incredible journeys, while capturing the essence, the creation and mission of Be the Subject, Not the Object.
