Cherie Mercado-Santos is a Filipina broadcast journalist in the Philippines. Mercado worked on TV5 from 2004 to 2016. She is a former anchor of a noontime newscast Aksyon Sa Tanghali with Raffy Tulfo from 2014 to 2016.[3][4] She has also worked with ABS-CBN.[1]

On July 15, 2016, Mercado left TV5, her home network for 12 years to become the spokesperson of the Department of Transportation (DOTR).[5] Mercado later resigned in May 2017 due to her motherhood.[6]

On February 12, 2018, Mercado joins CNN Philippines, as she takes over as a new anchor of the Evening Edition of Newsroom replacing Mitzi Borromeo.[7][8]

Cherie is married to Mike Santos, a stockbroker, and they have two children, Christiana and Anabella.[1]
