Checkered Flag Run Foundation

The Checkered Flag Run Foundation[1] is a non-profit organization provides diverse educational programs that impact under-served students and veterans. They provide access to quality educational opportunities through fund-raising programs and events "that ensures the investment of every student and Veteran getting to cross the “finish line”."

The organization’s programs include:

  • The Bridge Forum, a panel forum of law enforcement and community luminaries that seeks solutions and best practices for law enforcement professionals,
  • Phoenix Tools 4 School,[2] a school supply drive for students in need,
  • Veteran's Reach to Teach,[3] a program designed to hire veterans and family members of veterans with a bachelor’s degree to be guest substitute teachers within Arizona and Veteran's Reach to Teach Christmas in May Toy Drive.[4]
  • Voting for Veterans, an engagement and get out to vote program to elect and support veterans and the issues important to the veteran community.

The organization’s events include:

  • Celebrate Arizona,[5] to promote Arizona’s diverse content by marketing events that Celebrate Arizona throughout the year.
  • HeroZona,[6] bringing together veterans to celebrate several events, including NaVoba Veteranpreneur Awards, Veteran/Corporation Matchmaking, Networking, Job Fair, Veteran’s Day Parade, Concert and NASCAR events over Veterans Day weekend in Phoenix.

The Checkered Flag Run Foundation is also a supporter and partner of the My Brother’s Keeper initiative which was launched by President Barack Obama to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color, and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.
