It's the most critical element of creativity".[1] Their music is available on Spotify, on which they have 914, 574 monthly listeners.

Chase Atlantic formed and released their first studio EP, Dalliance, in 2014, followed by their EP Nostalgia which spawned their most popular song "Friends" and marked a change towards an indie-pop sound in addition to the pop-punk sound of their earlier work. In 2017 they released a series of EPs Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 with the intention to re-brand their sound with darker lyrics and R&B and Hip-hop influences. This change culminated in the release of their self-titled debut album, Chase Atlantic, later in 2017. Their album generated some of their most popular songs such as "Into It", “Okay" and “Dancer in the Dark”..[2] The band have since toured vigorously and, in 2017, went on to both open and headline their first US tours. The band released a stand-alone single "Numb To The Feeling" in April of 2018 ahead of their European tour with Sleeping with Sirens and the US run on the final Vans Warped Tour.

History

2012-2013

Before forming Chase Atlantic in 2014, Christian Anthony and Mitchel Cave were in a band called What About Tonight with three other friends. They saw each other's YouTube accounts and figured they would form a band in hopes to become as big as One Direction, who were put together on the X-Factor UK. They even sang in front of One Direction during boot camp.[4] The band auditioned for the X-Factor Australia season four.[5] What About Tonight made it through auditions and onto the show, but was unfortunately eliminated in week two, coming in 11th place, even after accumulating a pretty large fanbase.[6]

2014-2016

In 2014 Chase Atlantic officially formed the trio they still are today when Mitchel's brother Clinton joined the band. The band grew their following through Clinton's (now rebranded) Youtube channel. In 2014 the band released their first official EP, Dalliance. Which has five songs: "Anchor Tattoo", "Gravity", "Hold Your Breath", "Run Away" and "Gravity (So Much Higher Now Remix)". This EP started gaining the band some popularity and they went on to release a single later in the year, "Meddle About". The next year, in 2016, the band released their second EP, Nostalgia, which has five songs as well: "Roxanne", "Vibes", "Meddle About", "Talk Slow" and "Friends". With the release of this EP, Chase Atlantic gained more popularity with their most popular song, "Friends". Later in 2015, the band caught the eye of Benji and Joel Madden, members of the popular band Good Charlotte. they signed the group to their management company, MDDN. While meeting with the Maddens, Chase Atlantic also wrote and released another single, "Obsessive", in early 2016. This was intended to be the lead single for their Paradise EP, before the music files were lost and the project was ultimately cancelled. However, "Church", another song from the EP later appeared on Part 1. Also in 2016, the band signed with Warner Bros. Records, whom they still work with today.

2017-2018

After about a year long break from releasing music, in January 2017, the band released their third EP, Part One, which contained three songs:" Right Here", "Into It" and "Church". Later in March they released Part Two, which also had 3 songs: "Triggered", "Cassie" and "Why Stop Now". Part Three came in September, this time containing four new songs: "Drugs and Money", "Keep It Up", "23" and "No Friends". In October 2017, they went on their first tour in the United States with Sleeping With Sirens, which gained them some international recognition. After announcing they were going to tour in the US, the band released their first studio album, Chase Atlantic. The album contains fourteen songs; eight of which are new and not featured on any previous EPs. Later in 2017, they went on their first headlining tour in the United States where they played sixteen shows across 11 states. In January 2018, the band continued touring the US by opening for singer Lights, on her North American tour. They also announced they will be touring with Sleeping With Sirens again on their European leg of their tour. In April, the band released another Single, "Numb to the Feeling".

Music style

Chase Atlantic has a unique style of music, which according to the band is "conjured up dark alternative pop punctuated by rock and R&B." Throughout their four years of producing music, their music style has changed from an alternative/pop sound to a more alternative/R&B sound, which the band resides with more.[7] They are a combination of R&B, rock, pop, and alternative; They are influenced by many artists from all these genres as well, such as Tame Impala and The Weeknd.[8] All three members have stated that it is hard to describe their sound because it is unique. Mitchel Cave said, "it is a fuse of a lot of genres; we have taken the best things that we like in every single genre and kind of fused it into a new genre". They all agree that the genre or style of music is not what is important but rather they feel what is right when producing; they make their own sounds, music, and lyrics based on what the three of them feel is best.

Tours

Chase Atlantic started with small shows in Australia to gain attention and fans. They did one show at a halftime basketball game in high school, which looking back Clinton Cave says "was a little weird for a rock band". Chase Atlantic then began actually touring in small venues in Australia around 2014. A few years later, in 2017, they ventured to the United States where they opened for the band Sleeping With Sirens, pleasing many American fans. They went on to headline their own tour in 2017, also in the United States, where they played sixteen shows. They later opened for Canadian musician, Lights, on the North American leg of her "We Were Here Tour", where they played over 30 shows. Chase Atlantic are set to attend many festivals, such as Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, in the future. They will also be venturing outside of the United States, going to Europe, when opening for Sleeping With Sirens again on the next leg of their tour.
