Charlotte Wassef (Egyptian Arabic: شارلوت واصف; Coptic: ϣⲁⲣⲗⲟⲧ ⲟⲩⲁⲥⲉⲫ; 15 July 1912 - 17 January 1988)[2] was born in Alexandria, Egypt to Egyptian Coptic parents.[3][4] she was an Egyptian beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Egypt 1934 title.[5][6] She was also crowned Miss Universe 1935 in Brussels, Belgium [6] and she became Egypt's first Miss Universe.[7]
