Charlie Cooper (actor)

Charlie Cooper is a writer, actor, and comedian from Gloucestershire in England.

He is an actor and co-writer of the BBC comedy This Country with his sister Daisy May Cooper.[1][2][3]

In 2018 he was nominated for and won three Royal Television Awards for best ‘Scripted Comedy’, ‘Comedy Performance’ and ‘’Comedy Writing’.[4] He was also nominated for and won best ‘Scripted Comedy’ at the 2018 BAFTA awards for his work on This Country,[5] as well as winning "Breakthrough Talent" at the BAFTA Craft Awards. [6][7]

Personal life

Brought up in Cirencester he and sister used to make films using their mum’s camcorder. He dropped out of university to live with his sister in London who was at RADA and they began writing. They both returned to their childhood home and worked night shifts as cleaners whilst creating scripts for This Country. He is also a keen fan of Fulham FC, appearing at the Play-Off final.[8][9] Cooper’s favourite shop is Mounty’s in Cirencester where he would often purchase snacks to take back home and play Pro Evolution Soccer. Cooper’s favourite virtual referee is Kazuto Ito.
