Overview
Charles Segars (born April 15, 1963) is an American media executive and a native of Pittsburgh.[1] He is CEO of Ovation (U.S. TV channel).[2][3] He has had an extensive career in the media industry, across multi platform disciplines.
Early life
Charles Segars has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and completed a graduate certificate in International Security and Policy at Stanford University in 2011.
Business career
Segars was a senior executive in both broadcast, cable and syndication. Most recently, he helps companies diversify into new media including content creation, distribution and monetization through Over The Top (OTT)[4] and social media platforms. He is currently CEO of Ovation TV, a multi platform arts programming service.
Political, civic security and academic activities
Charles Segars is known as a rigorous advocate for increases in the federal and local arts budgets. He helped stem major cutbacks in the NEA budget over the last decade.
