Charles Furse (priest)
Charles Wellington Furse, MA, JP (1821-1900) was Archdeacon of Westminster from 1894[1] until his death.[2]
Furse was educated at Eton and Balliol.[3] He was ordained in 1848. After curacies at St Andrew the Apostle, Clewer[4] and Christ Church, Albany Street he was Vicar of Staines.[5] He was then Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon[6] and concurrently Chaplain to the Bishop of Oxford.[7] He was the incumbent at St John the t Westminster from 1883 until his appointment as Archdeacon of Westminster.[8]
He died on died 2 August 1900:his son was a noted artist.[9]
