Chandraratne Manawasinghe, was a Sinhala scholar, poet, philosopher and writer.

Manawasinghe was born 19 June 1913 in the village of Puwakdandawa in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. He was a Buddhist Monk during his childhood, known as Puwakdandawe Sri Chandaratana Thera.[1][2][3][4][5]
