Chandrakona Road

Chandrakona Road is a small Town in West Midnapur district, West Bengal, India. It has a railway station, which comes under South Eastern Railway zone. The town is situated at the intersection of the National Highway 14 (India) Its runs from Morgram to Kharagpur Old National Highway 60 (India, old numbering) and the State Highway 116B.

This place has four English-medium primary schools and few other Bengali-medium primary schools. Many of these primary level schools are privatized. It also houses three state-government affiliated high schools, one of them being girls-only and the name of the other schools are Dabcha Nabakola High School & Chandrakona Road Saradamoyee High School. Several major banks, e.g. SBI, Axis bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC, have branches in this area. Recently, at Santbankura, a shopping complex has been opened. A railway station and a central bus stop are located at the heart of the village. Chandrakona Road has a marketplace (locally called Super Market or "Chawk") filled with many groceries, boutiques, electronic retailers etc. which adequately fulfills the locals daily need. It also hosts a daily bazar where varieties of farm produces, meats and fishes are sold. This whole marketplace is very popular in the surrounding areas.

One police station is here. Most of the population is Hindu, with a rapidly rising Islamic minority. The pin code area is 721253 under Satbankura Post Office.

Chandrakona Road is most important Town area of Garbeta III CD block in Medinipur sub division of Paschim Medinipur District. NH - 60 runs as a backbone of this village. the headquarter of the block is situated here. BDO office Garbeta III block is situated in one side, beside state highway 4 & Block hospital( Dwarigeria Hospital) is opposite side just behind [Parimal Kanan Park].[1] By looking in naked eyes it may not seem as a typical Indian village, rather like small business town. Potato sales is high in winter season. some rice mill are also present in nearby locality. Chandrakona Road Busstand is situated in junction of SH-4 & NH- 60. Chandrakona Road railstation is situated approximately 1.2 km distance. Satbankura post office serves all area of Chandrakona Road. Finance of locality recently improved by 1 AXIS bank & 1 HDFC bank. Bank are situated just opposite [Satbankura] Gram Panchayet office. Biswakarma Puja is main famous [hindu festival] here with in all [paschim medinipur].
